CONTRARY to Internet speculation, new Meatpacking District hot spot Griffin is not closing. Rumors circulated after the Guest of a Guest blog reported that the club, which occupies the space formerly held by PM, is on the verge of shutting down over financial problems. But Griffin owner Chris Reda tells Page Six, “This is absolutely, 150 percent not true. I don’t even know where this came from. Business has been great. We have a seven-year lease and aren’t closing before then.” He adds that the club has a number of Fashion Week events lined up.

The most common souvenirs from a night of boozing are horrible hangovers, stale odors, and poorly chosen sex partners. Visiting a bar with a photobooth enables you to document the occasion. Besides unexpected cash, drugs, or the phone number of a quality hottie, photos are probably the best item to find in your pocket after an evening out on the town, since they can help you recollect even the haziest of memories. With this in mind, we’ve narrowed down the places where you can not only get snapshots, but shots of liquor too.

see which of your favorite local hot spots made this years list…

just when we all needed a drink, nightlife got serious. This year, absinthe made a comeback, hotel bars got their glam on, trustafarians opened passion projects. And our incognito correspondents were there, gallantly swilling nasty pisco sours and enduring ear-cracking drums and bass in order to pinpoint the true princes.

We encourage all of our friends and fans to please post pics of josh and post up some stories about him as well. Also take pics of any of the JOSH LINK tribute stickers you may see around nyc….

Jon O’Bir is a name that’s been splashed across the industry since he catapulted to the front of the line in 2002 after winning a prestigious competition run by Passion and M8 magazine. In the seven years since this Jon has gone from strength to strength in gaining respect, fans and accolades.

He successfully held a residency with the leading dance brand Godskitchen for many years which saw him warming up and going head to head with some of the biggest stars including Paul Van Dyk, Sasha and Tiesto, something very few people can add to their portfolio. 116

DJ AM — the celebrity club disc jockey known for dating starlets, collecting hundreds of sneakers and surviving a horrific plane crash — was found dead an apparent overdose in his SoHo apartment today, police said.

Cops found prescription drug bottles inside DJ AM’s residence at 210 Lafayette St. after the 36-year-old’s lifeless body spotted face-down in his bed at around 5:23 p.m. by a friend, who was concerned he hadn’t heard from the performer in several days, sources said.dj-am-01

I just received the following notice:

East Village bars Drop Off Service, Planet Rose, Forbidden City, Common Ground, Habibi Lounge, and Superdive will donate 50% of their register on Monday, Aug. 31 (all day and night) to set up a college fund for the children of murdered bouncer Eric “Taz” Pagan.

I’m told that bar owners in the area are devastated by what happened early last Sunday morning.

Previously.
