Lindsay Luv has been rocking the music industry for nearly a decade in New York, both with her past notable work in the music and events business and now as a professional touring DJ. On Tuesday, May 11th at 10pm, Lindsay is bringing her birthday bash and summer ‘Bon Voyage’ celebrations to the place where it all started: Ella Lounge. Lindsay’s DJ career exploded on the scene after she began a successful party and residency every Tuesday at Ella Lounge when it first opened! She wants to bring the party back for one big night before she heads off to Los Angeles to DJ the Playboy Mansion with Lil Kim and for top residencies including wild pool parties at The Mondrian Hotel, West Hollywood every Saturday this summer. Our bi-coastal birthday girl, whom is officially living now between both coasts, wants to rock out the Ella basement one last time with your help! With fabulous hosts including Societe Perrier and ChiChi212, photos by KirillWasHere as well as surprise performances and drink specials, this is sure to be an incredible night!

Cienfuegos, the rum joint that Ravi DeRossi of Death & Co. and Mayahuel has been installing above sister sandwich bar Carteles (which now has a daiquiri machine!), will open as soon as Friday. As previously mentioned, the still-growing menu of Cuban-inspired small plates is by Luis Gonzales (Mayahuel, etc.), and the fizzes, flips, and punch bowls (available in four sizes) are by Charlotte Voisey, best known for her work with Rose Bar and the Eldridge. As you can see by perusing the menu below, she has also invited guest mixologists like St. John Frizell of Fort Defiance to contribute.

As with DeRossi’s other establishments, the seating for 60 or so is walk-in only (hours are from 5 p.m. till 2 a.m., daily). Click through our slideshow for a look at the pink “jewel box” room, as well as at the cocktails and food. Next up for DeRossi, in the space next to Carteles that was once going to be La Otra: a next-door restaurant modeled after a public square, hopefully with a water fountain!

Converting a church into a nightclub—sound logic.

Converting a nightclub that used to be a church into a mall—dubious, preposterous and more than a little brash. Consider us intrigued…

And thus we arrive at the new Limelight Marketplace, three floors of food artisans, coffee shops, clothing stores, roving magicians and opera singers in the old Church of the Holy Communion, more recently known as the mighty nightclub Limelight, opening next week.

If not quite your new destination spot, you may find yourself praying at this church in the company of your certain special someone(s). For those times, you will need a game plan, lest you end up browsing the whimsically shaped cakes at the Butterfly Bakeshop.

Thus we suggest heading right up to the third-floor balcony, where you can survey everything below you, reminisce about the dance floor, and drop by Jon Wye for handmade leather belts and dog collars—just like they used to wear on said dance floor.

Then head down to the gourmet food court, pass by the charcuterie plates, imported olive oils and Costa Rican coffee stands, and end up at a 24-hour outpost of Brooklyn Bridge pizza house Grimaldi’s. Here you’ll order whole pies (and only whole pies), acquire pitchers of beer and carafes of wine, and drink to the ghosts of Limelight past.

Resist the urge to try on your new dog collar
