Cocktail Recipe: Perrier French Way [Video]
In a mixing glass, crush a slice of fresh ginger and a lemon wedge with a pestle. Add 1cl of cane sugar syrup. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir with a bar spoon.
Double filter the mixture into an absinth glass.
Soak a lump of white sugar with blue curaçao and then place it on an absinthe spoon over the glass.
Place the glass on a tray, accompanied by a bottle of Perrier.
Pour the Perrier over the soaked sugar lump until it dissolves. Once the sugar has dissolved, drop the absinthe spoon into the glass, stir and enjoy.
The ritual surrounding the traditional serving of absinthe is very important. Perrier invites the consumer to take part in the preparation of his own cocktail. Place the glass on a tray next to the bottle of Perrier.
Finish the cocktail by pouring the Perrier over the blue sugar, thereby introducing them to the “French way” of consuming an absinthe cocktail.
