Event Recap: Animal Collective DJ Set at Le Motel [Gallery]
On Friday night, one half of Animal Collective touched down in Paris at Le Motel for a surprise late night DJ set. The duo, consisting of frontman Avey Tare and Geologist, is currently overseas for pre-release interviews for the group's upcoming album, Centipede Hz, due out on Domino in September.
Pretty much every surface in the bar that could be danced on was indeed occupied. Setting up shop with iPads and a load of effects, the pair played a super danceable set, trading off and collaborating on song selection between the two of them, while also raising their ipads to curious guests with questions and requests.
Le Motel easily reached capacity, not that there was a doorman in sight. Each of the two rooms were packed to the brim as Animal Collective whipped the assembled crowd into a frenzy.
