Hedi Slimane Opts for Rock 'n' Roll Minimalism in His First Saint Laurent Paris Ad

There are no designs to dissect or accessories to ogle, but if Hedi Slimane's first Saint Laurent ad is a hint at what's to come from the label formerly known as Yves Saint Laurent, we can expect rock 'n' roll infused threads. Released today in Vogue Hommes Japan, the two-page spread features a shirtless Christopher Owens lounging on a velvet pillow, his face covered by a shade of untamed mane. The black and white photo of the former Girls front man appears opposite of a blank page printed with the house's new Saint Laurent moniker. Described by a label spokeswoman as "institutional," the full campaign includes 15 images. The apparel Slimane is set to send down the runway Oct. 1 — the apparel the fashion industry has been waiting with baited breath to see — will be featured in those to come. [via WWD]
