Japan’s Newest Robotic Invention Kuratas Is a Smiling Assasin
Meet Japan’s newest toy, Kuratas. The heavy-duty robotic invention weighs in at four tons and has the ability to open fire at targets using various forms of weaponry.
Intimidated? Don’t be.
While Kuratas looks like something out of the latest Transformers blockbuster, this friendly robot is designed to activate the weaponry firing mechanism (harmless airsoft BB rounds) with a single smile.
Throughout an instructional demonstration video, users are even warned “not to cause a shooting spree by smiling too much.”
The giant transportable robot is operational via an iPhone application or even more interestingly, users can personally board the cockpit inside of Kuratas and ready, aim, fire away.
Robotics expert Wataru Yoshizaki of Suidobashi Heavy Industry and artist Kogoru Kurata have designed Kuratas promising to “make your dream of becoming a robot pilot come true.”
