Live Like a Beatle: Yellow Submarine Hotel

yellowsubmarinehotel

First off, regardless of the details, who wouldn't want to take a vacation in a floating hotel created by a Brit named Alfie Bubbles? Beyond that, the unique leisure opportunity created by Mr. Bubbles is bound to be a dream come true for Beatlemaniacs or anyone with a fancy for '60s pop art. If you're up for a psychedelic sort of vacation experience — without the chemical enhancement — try a little hotel in the water at Albert Dock in Liverpool, the world-famous birthplace of The Beatles.

Bubbles had previously enjoyed success with a Batman-themed hotel boat called The Joker, and now he's parlayed that into The Fab 4, a boat that was actually used in the James Bond film Hunt For Red October, but has been handily outfitted to look like the legendary Yellow Submarine of Beatles iconography. Inside, visitors will find not only a painstakingly crafted decor designed with the psychedelic Technicolor Yellow Submarine feel in mind, but a more wide-ranging '60s Swinging London rock & roll feel as well — the lounge even includes a Vespa from The Who's famed film Quadrophenia among more modern accoutrements like 3D TV and wifi. But if you're interested in riding in your own personal Yellow Submarine, you'd better be persistent — it's already become a popular destination and there are only three rooms available.
