Living Large in Dubai At Palazzo Versace
If all you've been associating Versace with up to now is little black dresses, fashion boutiques, and designer eyewear, you're gonna have to stop being so 2010 in your thinking and start updating your assessment of the company's sphere of influence. And then you can get yourself over to Dubai for a first-hand peek at the luxury living quarters that are ramping up there under the regal-sounding name Palazzo Versace.
As with their high-end clothing line, Versace seems to have spared no expense and denied no amount of elegance in creating their dream hotel, set to open in 2012, which includes 169 long-term residential suites and 213 regular hotel rooms. Of course, "regular hotel room" is a relative term when you're talking about a swanky set-up like this one. Just to give you an idea of the sort of decked-out accommodations that are involved, let's hit a few highlights from the PV spec sheet, shall we?
For one thing, there's a veritable parade of pools, including an outdoor "lagoon pool" with sandy beach. Of course the executive leisure lounge, fine dining, and a full complement of spas are a given. In the rooms themselves, you're looking at Miele appliances, a combination of timber parquetry flooring and stone mosaic tiling, and naturally, Versace fabrics and furnishings. If you're itching to get in on the ground floor, so to speak, you can start soaking up the sophistication via the PV website. And while they don't appear to list anything so crude as prices online, we're guessing that terms like "bargain-basement" and "cut-rate" are probably inapplicable.
