Marquee — The Star, Sydney Set to Be the New Hot Spot Down Under
The Tao Group are one of the largest nightclub operators in the U.S., having several successful spots in New York and Las Vegas. Their reign of success is so much so that they are expanding into other continents. Next month, Tao Group will be opening Marquee -- The Star, Sydney, with the help of heavyweight operators, Noah Tepperberg, Rich Wolf, Louis Abin, Marc Packer, and Jason Strauss.
The Star will be located high atop the upper tier at the new Pirrama Road harbourside entrance, which overlooks the Sydney Harbour and city skyline. At over 20,000 feet in floor space with a capacity that can accommodate 1200 people, the venue will have three distinct areas that will cater to different tastes and moods. The main room will contain two dance floors, an LED lit DJ booth, and a 30-foot projection screen. For a more loungey experience, a second room, designed to emulate an old fashioned library, will also be present, complete with a working fireplace. Then there is the area that they refer to as the Boom Box, which will feature an outdoor patio and a completely separate DJ from the rest of the club.
Great music and luxurious style have always been the standard at The Star's Las Vegas (pictured above) and New York locations. This new Sydney counterpart is bound to have a similar following, but in its own unique Australian fashion. "Our team is looking forward to bringing the Marquee brand to Sydney while creating a venue with a distinct Sydney style and personality," says Tao Group Member Noah Tepperberg, "Its been great to see The Star unfold into an impressive casino and hotel, and now dining and entertainment complex, and we are excited to work with the talented Australian based team."
