Mysterious Street Artist Phlegm Creates Incredible Mural In Ireland

phlegm

The artist Phlegm seems to enjoy being a mystery. While the nature of his identity isn't quite as top secret as Banksy, Phlegm is not one to aggrandize himself, preferring to let the art to speak for itself. His approach is incredibly pure — no fanfare, no showy publicity stunts or documentaries — just great street art.

Born in North Wales and currently living in Sheffield, Phlegm releases his own comics, all comprised of intricate, well defined figures and shades. Watching his illustrative work jump off the pages and into the real world is possibly the most intriguing aspect of his work though. His murals which can found be found at various locations in London, Scarborough and most recently Bantry, Ireland, consist of epic-sized humanoid creatures, lanky and disproportionate, like characters from an old children's story book.

Watching the seemingly effortless process of Phlegm bringing these paintings to life is a truly breathtaking sight. Check out this video from his blog, which shows him painting two murals during his recent visit to Bantry.
