OneTeaspoon X Erin Wasson: A Perfect Fashion Match
OneTeaspoon designer Jamie Blakey’s collaboration with supermodel Erin Wasson for the brand’s first international campaign has bloggers frantically posting and fashion lovers everywhere ecstatic. Equal parts grunge and glamour, the series of images portrays the brand’s cool, laid-back feel and the team’s evident chemistry.
The pairing of the rock 'n’ roll-infused Australian brand and the edgy style of Wasson could not have been a better fit. “Shooting with Jamie in L.A. was like spending an afternoon with a girlfriend. The vibe was great and there was an immediate connection with the brand. The whole experience has made me a fan for life,” said Wasson, who first fell in love with OneTeaspoon after stumbling across a pair of the brand’s much hyped-about cut-offs while shopping in Australia.
Apparently, the feeling was mutual. Blakey raved of the Texas-born model, “Erin is off the hook amazingly beautiful. She wears the clothes perfectly. It all just worked. Erin. Venice. OneTeaspoon. Davy Jones Liquor store. The stars aligned.”
There was more to this collaboration than a simple designer-model pairing; Blakey and Wasson also worked as a team to style the campaign, which combines One Teaspoon’s vintage feel with a bit of rebellion. The results were a retro-glam aesthetic that portrays the natural coolness of California style. “I can’t wait for the world to see this campaign,” said the designer.
Photographer Ben Sullivan shot the campaign through filtered light on location in Venice Beach, California. From liquor store aisles to the edge of the Pacific, the team was able to create a setting that captured the effortless feel of Southern California.
What can you expect from the collaboration? A clashing combination of mini-dresses and bodysuits, embellished leather and shaggy denim, tie-dye neon and basic knits, Tecate and sunsets; the perfect contradictions in both fashion and in life.
