Scream London Gets Americanized

Scream London

American new mixed media art star Greg Miller's newest collection Four Corners is now on display at the Scream London museum in London and it couldn't find home in a better place. The retro throw back meets new age graffiti look fit in perfectly chez Scream. Miller's works surpass their canvases, the bright colors, the phrases, the people, the drippity drops of paint and more layers than an onion. It's the kind of work that makes you want to get your drink on, sit back and analyze it until you're dizzy, drunk or both.

The retro '50s feel come from Miller's inspiration of driving down Highway 99 in Cali with his dad as a kid and seeing all the billboards, some faded and tearing from the sun and weather. Thus his work is a collage of nostalgia and new age techniques. A press release for the museum states, "There is a fragile heroism conveyed within the temporary nature of it all, especially within his construction of paper, wood and natural materials, that gives Miller’s work liveliness and depth. Miller’s use of resin as a flawless glaze preserves this history and transience, but also gives the work a high quality finish"

Four Corners runs through January 5.
