Soulland Reinvents the Runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week [Gallery]
Danish brand Soulland has found a way to turn the runway upside down, or rather turn it it over to the buyers and press in a whole new way. Presenting its collection entitled "Bourgeoisie" at Copenhagen Fashion Week, the young brand staged its show in a unique fashion by inviting its attendees to walk the runway themselves. But rather than keep their eyes straight ahead, they could view the collection online via smartphone during their personal sashay through images of male models walking a runway of their own while decked out in Soulland's SS13 collection.
"We are thinking outside the box and we are going to add a new dimension to how a fashion show also can be from this point forward," says Soulland designer Silas Adler. The photos posted online of Soulland's SS13 offering feature an array of printed button ups and coordinating above the knee, tie-waisted shorts, light, neutral colors presented in a similar atmosphere and long sleeves and jackets as a nod to the northern nation's own brand of summer alongside neck ties and sunglasses. With pops of color in yellow and tangerine bursts, the collection comes across as summer with a thoroughly Scandinavian vibe. Also seen: inventive, sectioned footwear and a full-on black jumpsuit that changes the formal wear meets casual game.
