Suntory Serves Up $6K Rolling Stones Whiskey
The Rolling Stones have a well established reputation for doing everything in a top-shelf type of way. From their longstanding place at the top of the rock 'n' roll heap to their larger-than-life image and their often over-the-top lifestyle, they've never been a band for half-measures. So it's only natural that the celebration of their 50th anniversary should include an ultra-exclusive whiskey blend — at $6,000 per bottle.
Japanese whiskey giant Suntory has gone to great lengths to create a limited-edition run of just 150 bottles of Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Whiskey. Not only does the rarefied blend include malts that were distilled and casked in key eras of the band's career, going all the way back to their 1962 formation with a 50-year-old Yamazaki malt, the whiskey comes in a package just as carefully crafted as its contents. The one-of-a-kind crystal decanter, complete with diamond-shaped stopper and luxuriously appointed box, is designed around one of the most iconic images in all of music — namely, the classic Rolling Stones lips-and-tongue logo. Sure, if you want to snap up one of these precious items you'll have to throw down over $6,000, but by the time you've had your first sip, you're likely to feel like your own tongue is on par with the one on the bottle.
