The Bramble: Edinburgh's Favorite Cocktail Bar
Scotland is renowned for its whiskey and haggis, and if you happen to stop by The Bramble Bar in Edinburgh, great cocktails as well. Hidden in a basement on the corner of Queen Street and Hanover Street, this lounge is being hailed as one of the best cocktail bars in the city as well as a favorite among the cocktail lovers for a night out on the town. The decor of this small cellar bar is prohibition-era-meets-rock with low-lighting from vintage lamps, vintage tour posters, leather armchairs and loads of dark corners so that you may pay attention to your date or drink, depending what you love most.
And speaking of cocktails, it's all about the gin at the Bramble. The bar is well-stocked with a large collection of gins, great for making classic cocktails like the delicious Clover Club or Hendrick’s Tea Time Martini. The cocktail menu, placed inside the covers of an gutted book, is composed of forgotten classics and original drinks created by the talented staff behind the bar.
Now if you're new to the scene and have no idea what to drink, mixologists Jason Scott and Mike Aikman will no doubt help you pick out a tasty concoction to tickle your tastebuds. Perhaps it might be The Saint made with St.Germain elderflower liqueur, peach bitters & Prosecco di Conegliano. Or you might try one of our favorites, the Pretty Little Ditty, a tasty drink made with Tanqueray gin, aperol, fresh lemon, orange blossom water, fresh pineapple & agave syrup.
If you're not up for a cocktail every round, there's also a fine wine list and great speciality beer list as well that will make you just as happy.
