Upcoming Event: 'Double Tide' @ Espai d'art Contemporani de Castelló (MAD)
American artist Sharon Lockhart is an accomplished filmmaker who has worked on projects often focusing on everyday acts. Double Tide consists of two stationary shots at dusk and dawn in a creek in Maine, showing the work of female clam diggers who are at tandem with the ebb and flow of the tide. Frequently working directly with her subjects and encouraging them to contribute to design and other specifics of her films, Lockhart has included two drawings by Jen Casad, who is featured in the film, which is inspired by European still life paintings and international ethnographic film making. The serene and picturesque project is a welcomed addition to Espai d'art Contemporani de Castelló, which is a museum concentrating on new and creative work created by artists from all over the world.
