Upcoming Event: Liverpool Biennial (LPL)
Since its inception in 1999, the Liverpool Biennial has emerged as the largest contemporary art festival in the UK. For its 30th year, the event is taking on the city for ten weeks, with The Royal Standard, Everton Park and Open Eye Gallery among the eclectic list of venues. Opening weekend kicks off with a concert from American performance artist Rhys Chatham with additional highlights livening up Liverpool in the weeks to follow. They include a public commission from Argentinian artist Jorge Macci and the famed Cunard Building opening to the public for the first time to display works. The Walker Art Gallery will present one artist with the coveted John Moores Painting Prize during the fest, but if you make it to the biennial at all, consider yourself a winner.
The Liverpool Biennial runs from September 15 – November 25, 2012
