Walter Van Beirendonck's Fashion Fantasy [Gallery]
Yesterday afternoon Walter Van Beirendonck debuted his spring and summer 2013 collection to a large crowd gathered at Espace Commines in Paris. Before the 5:30 pm show, guests fanned themselves with the show's oversized paper invites. The show attracted a wide array of guests dressed in eccentric outfits, appropriate to the quirky collection that was unveiled.
Accessorized with paint-splattered top hats, frilly collars, arrows, and often entwined in rope, the models hit the humid runway dressed in a collection marked by restructured formal wear, plaids and pleats. Throughout the various looks, a super hero flare was ever-present, from lighting bolts adhered to the sides of the model's shoes to faux abs decorating many of the model's shirts. The men of the runway walked to a three song set including a moody track by Trust, before a bearded Walter Van Beirendonck made a brief appearance at the end, dressed in a white onesie with a grin across his face.
