Watch Björk’s Explosive New Video for “Mutual Core”

By Tristan Parker

The new Björk video is here, for her track “Mutual Core,” and as expected, it’s a mad, brilliant piece of mind-melting videography.

Directed by L.A. filmmaker Andrew Huang, it features the experimental Icelandic songstress engulfed by sand and surrounded by a series of colliding tectonic plates and psychedelic volcanic eruptions.

The track is taken from her Biophilia album, which itself has spawned a series of remixes. Björk has handpicked a selection of these remixes to be released as a separate album, Bastards, released on November 19. There are two remixes of “Mutual Core” on Bastards, including one by techno innovator Matthew Herbert, as well as further Biophilia tracks reworked by Hudson Mohawke, Death Grips and Alva Noto, amongst others.
