Mena Suvari (left) joined Rachel Zoe, Kelly Rowland, Hilary Duff, and an unfortunately dressed Perez Hilton all gathered together last night to celebrate the eyewear collection of DSquared2.The party was held at the roof of Dean and Dan Caten’s West Side Highway headquarter. DSquared2 (which, btw, is the most redundant label name ever) just launched a new eyewear collection that will be available in October.

Despite waiting almost two hours to get in and enduring a feisty girl fight just inches from my left ear, I must admit that Alexander Wang threw down last night for his SS10 afterparty co-hosted by Love Magazine. Held at the dangerously hip Milk Studios gas station (literally dangerous, cigarettes and petrol aren’t exactly an ideal mix), the party featured a performance by the one and only Miss Courtney Love, as well as surprise appearances by Santigold and Naeem Juwan (of Spank Rock fame). Partygoers sipped on pomegranate Belvedere cocktails served by Exxon-Mobil outfitted bartenders, while others headed to the free-for-all mini mart, overstocked with traditional gas station fare. Think chips, candy, gum, and… oh, Veuve Clicquot. Kudos to Mr. Wang; the awesome music, fun location, and cute crowd made for an excellent end to a long and busy day.

Hello!

Justin Roceket Silverman_Zach Hyman With all the fanfare of a New York City movie premiere, enter a tiny white tent normally used to cover VIP's at the toniest of events, Photographer Zach Hyman's (see photo at left-second from right) exhibit Decent Exposures  lit up the West Village like none we've seen.  Known best as one of Patrick McMullan's prized staff photographers, Mr. Hyman was supported by several of his PMC colleagues,*** all genuinely happy, and inspired by the energy of the night and the allure of the works.

The one man show offered an honest look at the nude human form at play in various scenes in and around New York City.  So you think if you've seen one "nude" you've seen them all? Think again! Christopher Street's tiny Maiden and Chair gallery currently houses a dozen or so large scale color photos of exquisite shots, where Mr. Hyman aptly provides as much "feeling", via his cityscape backdrops, as he does skin. In fact skin is SECONDARY here. We weren't shocked at all to see photo subject Model Jocelyn Saldana clothed…really we weren't.  Zach Hyman shared, "Decent Exposures is meant for me to be exciting…as an artist, it's exciting for me…it's exciting for the models…it's exciting for the public in every way possible…whatever way this is for them–anger, lust whatever. The whole idea is to de-assemble the idea that nudity correlates to preversion and sexuality. We all have these "parts", but the minute its right in front of you it's a bit bigger…people react differently then say to a computer screen…I wanted to capture that."

Chao Ngo + Chance Yeh Most impressive is the opening day's press, a feature on Page 3 of the NY POST, which then was linked to several other online news sources including the Drudge Report, a seperate CBS News Crimesider Profile, a set date to appear on the Tyra show, and on and on–the coverage continues to grow! The flashbulbs went off and the video crews made their way through to a one Mr. Hyman who happily seemed to take it all in stride.

If you are wondering if the lean and buff star photographer graced the show with a nude of himself, never fear, there was one wallet size piece attached to the artist's register, near the back bar.

;)

***- Patrick McMullan himself, Amber De Vos, Chance Yeh, David X. Prutting, Joe Schildhorn, Jimi Celeste, Will Raggazino, Marc Dimov, etc.

An exclusive invitation last night to former PAPER cover girl Kelis’s birthday party was what “About Last Night” is all about! Kelis looked sharp and showed us all photos of her adorable newborn Knight, who is almost a month old. The party was held at the underground labyrinth that is the mysterious Hotel Griffou, in a room that is peppered with murals of gigantic wolves and monks (the religious kind, not a nickname for an animal) on bikes. One of Kelis’s friends caused quite a stir by gifting the birthday girl a copy of Taschen’s The Big Penis Book!

This morning, 1:30 a.m., outside of the Box. A lone, Nordic-looking blond man in his mid-to-late thirties approaches the door wearing nothing but swim trunks. Clearly he’s there for one of the Box’s weekly indoor-beach parties. But here’s the problem: As the would-be Hasselhoff finds out when he tries the door, they’re on Wednesdays, and the Box is closed on Mondays. Awkward. He strolls into the gritty Lower East Side night, like a semi-nude De Chirico character.
