He’s one of our favourite authors, partly because of his stripped down prose, but we love him equally for his determination to enjoy life
Hemingway – traveller, writer, drinker and thinker. But mostly a drinker. To celebrate the famed carouser’s decadent lifestyle, Ruth’s Chris Steak House has created a special set menu with meat, martinis and, of course, cigars. It might not help you write the next For Whom The Bell Tolls or win the Nobel Prize for Literature, but you’ll leave with a full belly and a smile.

Two measures of Bacardi white rum
One measure of lime juice
Topped up with fresh grapefruit juice
Simple sugar syrup to taste
To make it long, pour in some Perrier...
