It's fair to say it's been a good year for the Loaded team. From their launch night which ran out of beer at 2am as it was so busy through word of mouth, to winning Time Out Dubai's Best Alternative Club night award in March, they've consistently given Dubai's club scene a much-needed alternative.
Billing itself as an open-minded indie night, the night includes indie heavyweights like the Stone Roses, Blur and the Arctic Monkeys, and isn't afraid to dip its toe into 90s hip hop, 50s rock and roll, classic rave tunes and some Drum and Bass. And they turn 1 on Friday June 25 with a 5 DJ line up tackling a Decades theme - each DJ will have an hour to showcase a decade, starting with Dan The Jackal taking on the 60s, 360 resident Tristan on 70s duties, Mahiki's Just Lance on 80s honors, while residents Zahra and Andy Buchan deliver the 90s and 2000s goods.
Not only that, but they've got loads of goodies on the night, including free beer and vodka from 9-11pm (email email@example.com to get on the guestlist), while there'll be free Sambuca on the hour, every hour. Oh, and cake, loads and loads of birthday cake. Alongside that, there'll be the usual cult cartoons and films on the big screen, including Quadrophenia and Danger Mouse.
It all takes place at Casa Latina at the Ibis Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road from 9pm on Friday June 29, and judging by past events, you're advised to turn up early to bag your dancefloor spot.
