As the Middle East gears itself for a long and grueling summer, we decided to sneak a peak at what or in this case, who, is likely to keep those temperatures soaring?
Her name is Melisa LeRue. She is currently not only working on her new album but has been actively promoting brand Melisa all over the world!
Let's step back a little and take a look at Dubai’s newest singing talent to hit the scene!
Fitting right into Dubai’s multi-cultural framework, Melisa is half British and half Filipino. A singer/songwriter, Melisa’s describes her style as ‘uniquely intriguing and soulfully enriched’! When we heard her belt it through, Melisa comes out as a powerhouse that is just getting started.
Starting her career at venues like Yarah Bravo and the Latin Dub Sound System in London and Europe, it’s clear that Melisa is not treading the beaten path. Here, in Dubai, she is actively playing off–the-cuff venues with a knowledgeable and passionate demographic as her primary audience. To showcase her talents, it was cover songs that she turned to, emulating her global heroes. With her debut EP just around the corner, there is a tremendous amount of excitement coming from team LeRue.
LeRue is currently in Johannesburg, South Africa, recording with the Grammy Award winning Soweto Gospel Choir who are featured on her debut single titled, Unite.
Not just a pretty face and a super talent, Melisa is doing it with a conscience. Her affiliation with Project Unite seals her commitment to bringing people together through her music.
