Upcoming event: Goldfish At The Official South African Freedom Day Party
Dubai’s South African community will be coming together this weekend to commemorate the first post-apartheid election that were held on 27th April, back in 1994, which resulted in Nelson Mandela becoming a well-loved president. The highlight of Friday’s celebrations is no doubt Goldfish, one of the country’s hottest dance bands, who are taking over Nasimi Beach at Atlantis for a day of live music and tunes from South African DJs including Charl Chaka, plus native wines and plenty of food, with traditional dishes like biltong, boerewors rolls and a Braai grill. Kicking off at 3pm with the party going on until 2am, we advise fuelling up and dancing on the sands for freedom, whether you hail from South Africa or not.
