Mobilee Records Label Night
Seven years on and Mobilee Records is still the force it set out to be. Co-founders Anja Schneider and Raif Kollman started Berlin’s hallmark label in 2005 and since then, haven’t stopped their pursuit of all things broad, bold and more importantly, Mobilee.
Dubai will have to dim it’s lights and turn up the volume as Mobilee rock up to the sand pit loaded with Martin Landsky and And.Id as ammunition for the iLL Communications season closing party at Dubai’s Trilogy nightclub. Just saying that makes you take a moment to catch your breath! Apart from carrying the Mobilee flag, the boys are entrusted with the gigantic task of equaling, if not beating the benchmark set by Kenny Glasgow of Art Department at last year’s epic season closing party. A round up of every big promoter worth his/her salt…that party was unanimously labeled the best Dubai had seen musically and in terms of vibe!
Let’s look at what we’ve got to work with this year? On the left, we’ve got Martin Landsky. Martin has been labeled as Mobilee’s ‘longest-serving newcomer’ and his sound is described as a journey through electro experiments, driving techno and flirtations with minimal. Put that into perspective and its no wonder why this Berlin boy is riding the hi-wave of success, which includes a close affiliation to Steve Bug’s hugely respected Poker Flat recordings.
On the right, we’ve got And.Id. Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece; And.Id is Mobilee’s master of swung beats and live brass, characterising his textured and rhythmic productions as ‘body-moving and mind-grooving’! And.Id’s acclaimed live show has seen him tour the Americas and land him regular spots at global clubbing giants like Fabric (London) and Panorama Bar (Berlin). Whether its house or techno, melodic or organic, percussive grooves or rough and edgy snares, one thing is certain: And.Id delivers!
