Club of the Week: Ecstasy, Passion and Pain
Named after the New York disco band of the 1970s, Scottish DJ and producer Mylo’s XOYO club night Ecstasy, Passion and Pain is one of the most popular nu-disco nights on the circuit.
This instalment has a distinctly European feel as guests include Belgian electro maestro The Magician (pictured) and Parisian electro-rockers The Penelopes.
The Magician cut his teeth as one half of Balearic house duo Aeroplane, and since going solo has made a name for himself as a smooth and sophisticated purveyor of deep grooves and disco-inspired house.
The Penelopes, meanwhile, will perform live – no doubt showcasing their debut album ‘Never Live Another Yesterday’, which hit the shelves this week.
Mylo also hits the decks, as do the excellent Mighty Mouse, so there’s plenty to enjoy here.
