Club of the Week: Midsummer Shakedown Boat Party
You can’t beat a boat party, and this particular voyage is set to be as spectacular as the regent Royal Pageant.
Okay, maybe not quite as spectacular, but the music will certainly be better!
After a year off in 2011 the Midsummer Shakedown Boat Party returns to the Thames this Saturday for a four-hour house and disco jaunt aboard the Golden Sunrise.
Manning the decks for the afternoon on the boat’s upper deck is Soul-Identity resident Rob Coley who presents a homage to house set alongside Italian underground house hero Nicholas and Disco Bloodbath founder Dan Beaumont.
Downstairs the Cigarettes and Sunshine crew host proceedings, so expect everything from house and funk to hip hop and soul, plus the odd conga line and dancefloor battle.
When the boat docks at 5pm an after party is planned in a top secret venue kicking off at 6pm and running until midnight.
