The Jugged Hare Brings the Countryside to Town
The Jugged Hare is the newest gastropub from Tom and Ed Martin, the deadly duo behind The Gun, The Cadogan Arms and The Botanist. It’s located in Barbican and last week we went along to its fancy launch night and enjoyed expensive wines, local ales, posh cheeses and meaty goods.
On the cocktail front, classic serves are the order of the day (or night), so if you fancy a stone-cold favourites such as a G&T or Bloody Mary then look no further.
The bar also offers a huge selection of wines served by the glass, carafe, bottle and magnum. Each month there will be different wines showcased and a 'wine by the glass' dispenser means you can carry out your own tastings.
If beer is more you thing then make sure you try the Jugged Hare, an ale specially created for the opening.
On draught there will be four rotating British cask ales alongside the pub’s very own George’s Bite - a modern, more sophisticated take on the classic Snake Bite cocktail made with Symonds English cider, Amstel lager, freshly pressed apple juice and fresh blackberries.
To soak up all of that booze you're probably going to want to indulge in some food - choose from spit-roasted meats, charcoal cooked steaks and pot roasts.
It’s like a little bit of the countryside transported into the heart of the city.
