The World’s First Photobooth Festival Premieres in London

Photobooth Festival

Given Londoners’ love of festivals and the popularity of social photography apps such as Instagram that celebrate photography styles and treatments of yesteryear, it’s hardly surprising that the world’s first Photobooth Festival takes place in Columbia Road, East London later this month.

On July 21 the trendy east end street (famous for its Sunday flower market) will be transformed into a festival of photography as a collection of unique, hand-built booths set up shop ready for punters to get snapped in style.

The bespoke booths range from a converted camper van to a disco-themed Airstream truck and a pop art booth, each producing prints in different styles such as Warhol-esque colours to cutting edge 3D portraiture.

As well as photography the festival also boasts music courtesy of Rough Trade DJs, free makeover from the Powder Puff Girls and plenty of food and cocktails whipped up by local east end chefs.

“I’m really excited about the Photobooth Festival. It gives us the opportunity to share some of the innovations we’ve been working on with London,” says Photobooth Festival founder Seamus Ryan. “Nothing comes close to a photobooth in creating spontaneous, uninhibited and spirited portraits. I know people are really going to enjoy interacting with photography in such a fun and engaging way.”

Photobooth Festival takes place on July 21 from 10am to 8pm. For more info and tickets visit www.photoboothfestival.com
