Upcoming Events: Summer Series @ Somerset House
Earlier this week we looked at the exciting art exhibitions taking place at Somerset House over the coming months, now the focus is on music – specifically the annual Summer Series of live gigs.
The annual musical extravaganza runs from July 7-19 and after sets in previous years from Super Furry Animals, Blondie, Eels and Adele the bar is already high for the 2012 line-up.
Aussie musician, composer and comedian kicks things off on July 7 before London singer-songwriter Katy B takes to the stage the following night.
Other notable highlights include a rare set from triple-Grammy Award winner Jill Scott, a double bill of groundbreaking British talent featuring Anna Calvi and Eugene McGuinness and an Afrobeat session from by Choice FM’s DJ Abrantee and starring Olu Maintain, Atumpan, May7ven and Vibe Squad.
The intimate open air gigs are one of the highlights of the summer and given this year’s line-up there’s something for everyone.
