AV Nightclub: Mundane Mondays No More
At AV, L.A.’s newest nightclub which opened on May 7, it’s not just another manic Monday. Okay, some mania, but the good kind of craziness that tricks you into thinking it’s still the weekend.
And Mondays are it at AV (a.k.a. Audio/Visual Nightclub*). Setting it apart, among other elements, AV brings nightlife action on one day where most (if not all) Hollywood clubs are dark.
"We chose Monday because of the overwhelming need for it. Mondays have always been geared towards a varsity crowd of clients, celebrities and trend setters that are less concerned with the general club-goers and are looking for more exclusivity in a night set apart from the bridge and tunnel crowds of Hollywood. AV Mondays will be a tour de force for years to come," says Tosh Berman, co-owner of AV Nightclub.
Speaking of tour de force, the DJ booth, surrounded in 17th century European accents, is the stunning centerpiece of the club.
Cozy up on the Roosevelt chesterfield lounge chairs or for a glimpse of the few visible stars in L.A.’s night sky, head to the ivy-covered outdoor patio, lit by a blazing fireplace.
AV Nightclub doles out a scintillating experience in seduction and panache in vivid plum, gold and chartreuse tones.
Think: Willie Wonka & the Queen of England collaborate to design a nightclub.
The cocktail menu features fruity drinks to further redeem your Monday, like the Blackberry Bourbon of bourbon, muddled blackberries and basil.
Matt Bendik and Tosh Berman, nightlife aficionados say of launching AV, say, “Our approach to AV was simple. Classic style and sophistication that caters to an exclusive crowd that knows and expects the best.”
In 2009, Bendik was the brain child behind the West Hollywood haunt, Voyeur, thus AV stands for 'After Voyeur' as well.
And many club-goers would say his 2.0 version is his best creation yet for the exclusive, boutique vibe, with his signature half-naked aerialists in tote, no doubt.
