Better Know A Blogger: Olivia Lopez of Lust for Life

"I would hope that my blog inspires all girls to find their own voice and be their own muse."

Taking its name from the infamous Iggy Pop song, the blog Lust for Life serves to catalog the personal fashion sense and adventurous lifestyle of 19-year-old blogger Olivia Lopez. Running strong for five years, the blog has evolved from its early beginnings driven by her passion for travel and music into a full-service enterprise that now includes a popular vintage shop. The SoCal student takes the opportunities as they come and is currently represented by NEXT modeling agency, counting a Pain de Sucre swimsuit campaign and an American Apparel ad amongst her credits. The OC/L.A. resident now takes the time to fill us in on how she got her start, where the blog has taken her and her current ambitions while also giving us the lowdown on her outfit must-have and influences.

How would you describe yourself?
Olivia Lopez: I consider myself as a risk-taker, a life lover, a vintage hoarder and a wanderlust woman with a heart of gold.

How would you describe your style?
My style is constantly evolving, but at the root of it all it is nostalgic and feminine yet deeply rooted by moto style influences and rock 'n' roll.

What led to you starting your blog?
I began my blog as a precocious 14-year-old with a neverending hunger for travel, music festivals, and meeting individuals that work in all corners of the creative world. It was my little private hub where I documented my adventures with an anecdote to follow. A few years later I received an SLR as a birthday present and it's become a personal style file ever since!

What do you think sets your blog apart from the pack?
This is tough since there are so many well-curated, edited, and overall aspirational blogs out there — but I would hope that my blog inspires all girls to find their own voice and be their own muse.

Who are your fashion icons?
My style influences range from Bianca Jagger, Charlotte Kemp, Miroslava Duma and Olivia Palermo. All these women have a sense of flare that is completely unmatched.

If you could raid the wardrobe of any movie, what would it be?
If I could raid the wardrobe of any movie, it would be Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. My heart and soul is set in the 1960s.

Black plays an important role in your wardrobe as a recent post highlighted. How would you describe it?
Black is simple, sexy, and always a classic.

An outfit isn't complete without...
High heels! A solid pair of shoes elevates any look--even dad jeans if you dare.

What role does living in L.A. and the OC play in your style identity?
Vintage culture in L.A. has shaped my style in a huge way being that it is incomparable to most of the world — where else could you find an authentic '60s piece from an old time Hollywood star? South County culture in Orange County is where you find the real-deal surfers with beach waves and distressed Levi's — the two together has made me a nostalgic dresser but laid back on the moments in matters most (the summer months.)

What are your ambitions outside of the blog?
I'm hoping to finishing college with a business degree, pursue my vintage store The Caravan as a full-time gig, and continue building my portfolio as a freelance stylist, consultant, and at the moment-designer for a capsule collection coming out next spring. I'm ready to embrace whatever the future has lined for me.
