Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafioso Play L.A. Benefit
In a few days' time, two worthy causes — the Children's Orthopaedic Center and the Mark Taper-Johnny Mercer Artists Program at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles — are set to receive a serious shot in the arm by way of an all-star benefit concert. Slated for February 12 at the House of Blues in L.A., the show will feature Deadmau5, Rihanna, Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia, and Calvin Harris as headline acts.Chris Lake and Michael Woods will also be appearing in the concert.
The tickets go on sale today, so don't delay. And be apprised that they don't come cheap, starting at $250 and going all the way up to a cool grand for a VIP package, but it is, after all, for charity, and if you were to shell out for individual shows by each of these artists, it would probably add up to an even higher total. And besides, as Rolling Stone rightly points out, there's a certain obscure little event called the Grammys that just happens to be taking place on the same night as the concert, so it seems entirely reasonable to assume that the possibility for a little heavy-duty surprise-guest action could easily be in the air.
