Download: Cypress X Rusko - "Roll It, Light It"
There was a lot of speculation about this partnership, but Cypress X Rusko is finally here. Cypress Hill and Dubstep DJ/producer Rusko joined forces to create an EP of raw and unfiltered sound, mixing together Cypress Hill's signature vocals with Rusko's beats.
"I think dubstep is a natural progression of hip-hop,” says Cypress Hill's Sen Dog. “Especially the way that we formulated it with Rusko, there’s definitely some roughness to it.”
The EP was recorded over a six month period, in part with Rusko joining Cypress Hill in the studio but also sending tracks back and forth while he was on tour. The tracks on Cyprus X Rusko which will be released in April run the gamut from slower synth sounds to club bangers. Check out their first release below.
