Fun And Games At The Spare Room
Located on the mezzanine level of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, The Spare Room is a regal recreation room that’s a great spot to get a cocktail and gather with friends. That is, if you can get passed the bouncer. Once you walk through the wooden doors, it’s filled with art books, a variety of custom-built board games like Scrabble, Connect Four, Jenga and chess. There is also a photo booth to capture fond memories. Now if you fancy a more physically active game to play, there’s an old-fashioned two-lane bowling alley (equipped with designer bowling shoes) that will just set you back $100 and an hour. So play quickly.
As for the cocktail program, there have been a few changes at the bar since Naomi Schimek has been promoted to director of beverages. Debuting last Monday, Schimek’s fall cocktail list includes the Amoxycillin (Amaro Nonino, Laphroaig 10, ginger, lemon, honey), Remembranc (Bartlett pear soaked Fino Sherry, Plymouth Gin, Bianco vermouth, rosemary), Robert Frost (Magic Hat #9 Ale, apple cider, amaretto, lemon) and Thanks Grandma (Jamaican Rum, hazelnut and allspice liqueurs, cinnamon spiced pumpkin, cream, nutmeg). The cocktail range between $12- $16.
