Housse De Racket Heads for Coachella and More on U.S. Tour

Those who aren't especially conversant with the Gallic tongue might conceivably guess that Housse De Racket translates to "house of noise," but nothing could be farther from the truth — the supple sounds the French duo makes are quite carefully crafted manipulations of beats and electronic textures. Of course, the actual translation of their name ("tennis racket cover") isn't especially descriptive of their approach either, but when Pierre and Victor bring their sound to the States in March and February, it will be immediately clear to concertgoers exactly what the pair's collision of synth-pop, dance music, and more is all about.

On their latest album, Alesia, Housse De Racket challenged themselves to come up with sounds in the spirit of some of their influences, expanding their own style in the process, and the duo's tour last year with Yelle exposed them to more people than ever, so they're sure to arrive in the U.S. with all pistons pumping. Their tour will end up with shows at Coachella on April 15 and 22, but it will kick off with a couple of performances at SXSW in March, and in between the Parisian pair will hit every place from Georgia to New Jersey. But if you want a little taste of that synth-slathered sound in the meantime, HDR has just unleashed a free MP3 of a new remix for their song "Chateau."
