L.A. Cocktail Classic: Boozeologists Unite!
L.A. Cocktail Classic, an event solely dedicated to lovely libations? Finally, the City of Angels is rejoicing on high to welcome its arrival. On Friday, June 8th, St. Vibiana cathedral-turned-nightclub in Downtown Los Angeles will be converted once again into a spirits-ual experience.
From the guys who brought the successful L.A. Beerfest, Drink Eat Play’s debut L.A. Cocktail Classic is sure to keep the buzz going, literally. The all-star mixologist line-up, featuring Joe Swifka of ink, Joe Matt Wallace of Harvard and Stone, Marcos Tello formerly of Edison and Matt Biancaniello of Hotel Roosevelt’s Library Bar is enough to make the hefty $75 entry fee worth it.
But that’s not all. The first-ever cocktail-centric fest in Los Angeles will feature over one hundred top-shelf liquor brands to sample, an oyster bar and a single malt scotch bar by 200-year-old Bowmore Scotch Distillery.
If you like your ladies with a kick, stick around for the female bartenders “Punch-Off” vodka mixing competition. Suntory, the Japanese whiskey, also promises a bit of transcendence with a tipple with toes bared.
A word to the wise is to dress to impress. You are going to church after all, so get swank sophisticated in your attire or stay home.
Tickets for L.A. Cocktail Classic are $75 per person, including open bar, 9 pm to 1 am.
