Loup: Parisian Inspired Tennis and Resort Wear

Loup

Somehow a T-shirt and jeans on a Parisian seems exceedingly stylish.

What started in 2008 as a tennis-inspired line bringing fresh ideas to the resort and athletic world, Loup has since evolved into a contemporary womenswear collection. Influenced by the desire to create comfortable and slightly retro clothing, the label adds comfort and easy elegance to everyday garments.

Loup (pronounced lou) is heavily influenced by the romantic ideals of Parisian style; the line draws on the same accessible elegance and simple grace for which Paris is known. Danielle Ribner, the line's founder and Creative Director, first fell for Paris while studying French cinema in college, and she strives to capture the soul of the city in each collection she creates.

"The spirit of the city inspires an idea of everyday chic and an ease of elegance," says Ribner. "Somehow a T-shirt and jeans on a Parisian seems exceedingly stylish, and my goal is always to capture this effortless beauty that the city has."

An athletic/resort brand driven by Parisian elegance? We're in love, and hungry for more. Lucky for us, Loup is by no means finished evolving, and Ribner sees the brand gaining momentum as a collection of effortless staples, producing easy, chic items that women will want to wear over and over again.

"I want [women] to feel like the coolest version of themselves," Ribner says. "I try to create an effortless sense of style that shows that a woman has a personality beyond trends, but still appreciates something special."

And any woman with an appreciation for that little extra something special will undoubtedly fall for Loup. What seems like a simple tank top may be hiding skillful seaming and details to make it more flattering, or the fabric has been artfully chosen so the garment gets better with each wash.

The special details and romantic ideals that drive each collection make Loup difficult to resist. As the brand continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more of what we've already come to love: flattering, everyday pieces, soft, sexy fabrics, and a touch of Parisian soul behind every hem. Irresistible, indeed.
