Rodarte Exhibit To Open At LACMA

collection sketch2

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is getting a little bit more fashionable this holiday season as it presents the North American debut of Rodarte: Fra Angelico Collection by Kate and Laura Mulleavy. As a promised gift to the museum’s renowned costume and textiles department, this exhibit of ten gowns from the Spring|Summer 2012 couture collections is inspired by the frescoes painted by the early Italian Renaissance artist Fra Angelico (c. 1350–1455) and will be on view in the museum’s Italian Renaissance gallery, surrounded by classic Renaissance works. The Fra Angelico Collection is the first by Rodarte to enter the museum’s permanent holding and will be open to the public for viewing from December 17, 2011-February 5, 2012.
