Sincerely Jules Puts California Cool On The Fashion Map
When Julie “Jules” Sarinana first started her blog, Sincerely Jules she posted inspirational photos of fashion editorials and artwork, but soon realized that readers were most inspired by seeing pictures of her. Comments quadrupled when she started posting her daily outfits. People wanted to know how to copy her effortlessly chic look and find out where she buys her clothes.
Her style is a mixture of vintage and retail, tied together with unique accessories like headbands or floppy hats. Her mother introduced her to thrift shopping and she scours Los Angeles stores like Wasteland and Shareen Vintage for well-priced designer pieces. For retail outlets she favors H&M, Free People and Madewell.
Like many style bloggers, her photographer also happens to be her boyfriend. Since he also works in the fashion industry, Sarinana says that he does not much direction in how to showcase her ensembles in the best way. “Since we’ve been doing this for a few years, he knows my style now.”
Her posts, which she only updates when she truly feels like she has something to show or say, have translated into further projects for the 25-year-old. She has been selected as one of 18 bloggers for the Glamour Blogger Network and has been tapped to model for retail giants like Mango. She also works as a freelance stylist.
In the future she hopes to continue to work with brands, collaborating and inspiring them with her style aesthetic. She would also like to open a store, which like her signature look mixes vintage, retail and accessories. Her advice to other bloggers is simple, “only post what you love and people will follow you for your passion.”
Sarinana may have a cult like following for her uber-cool outfits but what people are really, truly obsessed with is her hair. “The number one question I get is, how do I get my hair to look the way it does,” she says. The answer is an ombré color scheme, her go-to stylist and the fact that she cuts her own bangs.
With so many talents from creating impossibly cool outfits, to having enviable hair and styling others to get on her level of chic, we are sure we will see more of Sarinana in the future.
