Sundance Diaries: Anthony Pisano
Every year, thousands of people from around the globe descend on Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival, the largest independent cinema festival in the world. Yet, aside from the dozens of features and short films screened, the nightlife scene at Sundance has become its own story, with surprise performances and DJ sets happening every night and celebrity sightings occurring almost nonstop.
This year, we decided to ask some of our favorite DJs in attendance to throw various parties to document their experiences for a feature we're calling "Sundance Diaries." In addition to providing their own recaps of their days, we also asked them to help tell their stories by using the Instagram app on their phones, so check out the photo gallery below the recap to see what some of our favorite nightlife party-starters saw during their time at Sundance this weekend.
Continuing with our series, today we bring you the "Sundance Diary" of Miami electronic dance music producer and DJ Anthony Pisano, a resident DJ at Miami's LIV, who recently released "Lie To You" with his production crew Brass Knuckles. Pisano has toured all over the world, including London, Paris, Rome, Los Angeles, New York City, Zurich, and more, sharing stages with the likes of DJ AM, Calvin Harris, A-Trak, Diplo, Laidback Luke, and LMFAO, among many others.
Thursday January 19 - Sundance is one of my favorite events of the year. This year my stay was cut short a few days due to shows I had back in L.A. The first day of my Sundance experience began with meeting up with some of my good friends from Miami at Bing Bar. They did a great job putting together a cozy house party environment with amazing artwork, lighting, staging, and some of today's top performers. Next stop was Downstairs PC where I went to go see my friend Lil' Jon perform. The party was small and intimate with a ton of energy. From there I headed over to the new hot spot in Park City, Sugar. Morgan Page was the headliner that night he threw down a great set to a packed house.
Friday January 20 - Day two in Park City started off with hitting the slopes for a few hours for some snowboarding before my gig at the Brandsway Creative TR Gifting Suite. I played some funk, nu-disco, house, and hip hop while "SNL" alum Chris Kattan and actor William H. Macy told jokes for the cameras. My good friends Purple, Rene Martin, and Matt Werner from Miami stopped by as well. From there the party continued at Bing Bar again for a really exclusive party with a special guest performance by the one and only Wiz Khalifa. After the Wiz show ended we headed over to TAO where DJ Vice was playing with Quincy Jones, Lil' Jon, and Afrojack. Paris Hilton was also in attendance. After an amazing night, I packed up all of my stuff and jumped on a plane back to Los Angeles for my show the next night.
