Upcoming Event: Blues for Smoke @ The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA
L.A. institution The Museum of Contemporary Art presents Blues for Smoke, a unique collective exhibition exploring a wide range of contemporary art, music, literature and film through the lens of the blues musical era.
Through an eclectic range of artistic mediums from fifty artists from the 1950s to the present, the exhibition reflects upon the poignancy of the blues era, through its cultural and social influence played out on American society.
Curated by MOCA’s Bennett Simpson, Blues for Smoke will launch in October through January, before traveling to the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, where it will be presented February through April 2013.
