Upcoming Event: Simian Mobile Disco (DJ Set) at Avalon Hollywood
"You get these patterns interacting and you get these quite complicated polyrhythmic structures," Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford told us when speaking about SMD's new album, Unpattern. "It creates a degree of complexity you probably wouldn’t be able to write on your own. It’s one of the things we always look for. There’s a certain point where you kind of lose control of it. If it’s a compelling thing it’s doing, that’s even better than if you’d written it."
While Ford and his partner, Jas Shaw, have a headier musical side, they certainly know how to throw down and make bodies move when they're in the DJ booth. Currently on a massive global tour promoting their latest and greatest, the duo take on Avalon's pristine sound system with their big tunes and grooves. Expect nothing less than a night to remember.
