The notion behind simplified, reductive art has ironically been a catalyst for an expansion in the art world. Because of artists like Andy Warhol, that style has opened the minds and imaginations of countless artists in the wake of his revolution. The Painting Factory: Abstraction After Warhol looks to explore the change in contemporary art with a selection of artists who have followed and learned from the work of Andy Warhol. Alongside some of Warhol's own work will be pieces by Tauba Auerbach, Mark Bradford, Das Institut, Urs Fischer, Wade Guyton, Glenn Ligon, Julie Mehretu, Seth Price, Sterling Ruby, Josh Smith, Rudolf Stingel, Kelley Walker and Christopher Wool. Abstract art has never been the same since Warhol's emergence and the presentation of The Painting Factory sets out to prove it.
