Retro-soul funkologist/rapper/singer Mayer Hawthorne has been toiling away in indieville for years, working on his smooth signature and recording for Peanut Butter Wolf's Stones Throw label. 2011 found Hawthorne signing a major-label deal with Universal and significantly stepping up his profile. "Dreaming" is the latest single from his second album, How Do You Do, released in October. The song is a dreamy slice of sunny pop, and it's the perfect yin to the creepy video's yang.
