Moda, Música y Fiesta Con DJ Eiko
Una chica de Tokio que forma parte del DJ Lab Global Tour de W Hotels y Burn Studios, DJ Eiko llegó a la Ciudad de México como siguiente escala en esta gira que la ha llevado a presentarse en Barcelona, Hong Kong y Taipei. Esta es la primera vez que Eiko pisa tierra azteca y su emoción me emocionaba a mí de regreso.
“Todo el mundo me dijo que México es un lugar increíble. Y tienen nachos, me encantan los nachos, además estoy muy metida en lo maya”, me decía Eiko mientras platicábamos en un sillón del hotel. Debo decir que es difícil no enamorarse de Eiko al conocerla. Es extremadamente sencilla y divertida, con un lindo acento inglés al hablar y con un look increíble pues además de DJ también es blogger para ELLE Girl Japan.
A girl from Tokyo who is part of the DJ Global Lab Tour W Hotels and Burn Studios, DJ Eiko arrived in Mexico city as the next stop on this tour that has taken her to Barcelona, Hong Kong and Taipei. This was her first time on Aztec land and her emotion was contagious.
“Everyone told me that Mexico is a beautiful place. And you have nachos, I love nachos and I’m so into Mayas" Eiko said to me while we talked in an sofa in the hotel. I must say it's hard not to fall in love with Eiko. She is extremely simple and fun, with a cute English accent when she speaks and an amazing look, since besides being a DJ she is also a blogger for Elle Girl Japan.
La moda fue lo primero para Eiko “mi mamá era diseñadora en Japón, simplemente amó la moda, me es natural. Todas las chicas quisieran trabajar en eso, es un trabajo increíble pero creo que mi personalidad no es lo suficientemente buena para un trabajo así”. De cualquier forma sus mejores amigos trabajan en moda así que Eiko, quien ha sido modelo, trabajado como coordinadora de moda y en revistas sigue muy conectada con ella.
El descubrimiento de Eiko fue hecho entre una cadena de amigos mutuos con Michelangelo L’Acqua, Director Global de Música de W Hotels, quien se encontraba en Tokio para una fiesta y había visto y gustado de un video de esta artista. Eiko se inició en una banda llamada Boy Allergy que tenía con sus amigas en Tokio y la hizo conocida en la escena de esa gran capital.

Eiko started in a band called Boy Allergy she had with her friends in Tokyo and became known in the scene of that great capital.
“Siempre he amado el disco, tal vez nuevo disco, de manera que todos pueden venir y divertirse. Me gusta agregarle eco a los instrumentos y tal vez suena un poco de los 80’s. De niña escuchaba canciones de esa época y se quedaron en mi cabeza aunque tal vez no estaba muy conciente de que soy fan de esa música. Mi estilo es soñador y femenino” fueron las palabras con las que Eiko describió su música como DJ y como cantante.
Mientras compartíamos nuestro amor por bandas como New Order, The Cardigans y Siouxsie and the Banshees retomamos un poco el tema de la moda porque no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de hablar con una japonesa al respecto. Fan de Chanel, esta chica prefiere vestir siempre de negro “Amo las faldas largas, creo que se ven muy elegantes, pero ahora que todo el mundo las usa creo que debo encontrar otra cosa”.

Por supuesto, como buena portadora de la bandera de moda japonesa Eiko usaba lo que describía como zapatos japoneses.
