5 Toughest Doors: Miami Art Week Edition

chez andre

NYDoorman is a nightlife expert and will also be hitting up the Miami Art Week party scene.

Getting into a good party isn’t as easy as people seem to think it is. I’ve spent a lot of time in New York learning about the intricacies of a venue's door policy and what it takes to get breach the velvet ropes. With that in mind, I took a look at the clubs hosting pop-up parties for Miami Art Week and compiled a list of those I think will be the hardest to get into.

1. Le Baron
With outposts in Paris, New York, Tokyo and London, Le Baron boasts one of, if not the hardest door to breach in the world. What makes it particularly challenging this year is that they are trying their new concept of “Where Is Le Baron?” where they will reveal the location of the night’s party at 6 pm each day. Time to call in those favors, because I expect a mob of beautiful people at the door.

2. Chez André
Chez André is a pop-up of a pop-up that started originally in New York for Fashion Week and has currently only made an additional appearance in Los Angeles. With Nicolas Ullman bringing back his rock karaoke, expect A-list celebs and models to be belting out rock and roll tunes well into the morning. Also expect to see Simonez Wolf guarding the door night after night at its new Shelborne Hotel outpost.

3. Bow vs Le Pompon
Bow is the current brainchild of downtown nightlife honcho Travis Bass, which has only recently opened in New York. This Saturday they’re doing a party with Parisian nightlife hot spot Le Pompom at the Hotel Victor. Their door is overseen by Mr. Eamon Kelly, who while one of the nicest people is not easily persuaded to admit those not on the permanent guest list.

4. Electric Room
Nur Khan's rock 'n' roll gem nestled deep beneath New York's Dream Hotel will play host to a variety of fetes this week including The Morrison Hotel Gallery and The Whitney. With guest DJ sets by Alison Mosshart of The Kills, I expect their door will be that much more strict than New York.

5. Funday At Goldbar
Jonny Lennon is bringing his famed New York Funday party to Miami this year and an impressive array of DJs with him. This party boasts a friends and family type door policy in New York, so if you didn’t make the cut before, I doubt you’ll make it now. If admitted, expect to hear music by the likes of DJ Sinatra, Jesse Marco, Mia Moretti, DJ Subzero, The Chainsmokers and Orazio Rispo.
