Better Know a Blogger: Le Pretty Stellar
"I feel like my readers love to have fun with their clothes just as much as I do."
Le Pretty Stellar is the online home for Miami-based style blogger Joselin Reyes. The 24-year-old keeps readers up to date on her current outfits, latest purchases and lifestyle surrounded by friends under the bright skies and towering palm trees of Florida's largest city. Reyes has a striking flair for fashion, with the attitude to carry off numerous looks from platform creepers and spunky faux-Chanel tees to bold leopard print pieces and more. Here, the blogger pulls back the curtain on dressing in Miami heat, penchant for eBay and what she does in her spare time.
How would you describe yourself?
Joselin Reyes: I'm just a 24-year-old girl that is usually pretty quiet and reserved when you meet me but eventually you'll see the talkative girl that loves to have fun, laugh and hang out.
How would you describe your style?
I feel like I don't have one specific style, I have plenty and it just depends on how I feel that day. I just like to have fun with my outfits really. One day I can be all about wearing lace and fringe and the next day I'll be wearing a leather jacket, cut off shorts, and combats boots.
How did you decide upon the name of your blog?
Well, my Twitter handle is prettystellar, so I just decided to stick with it because I truly love how it sounds and added the "le" because I've always been quite fond of french terms and how good they make other words sound.
How would you describe your readership?
I feel like my readers love to have fun with their clothes just as much as I do. They just get it, and that means the world to me. Their comments and support make my days so much better.
What are your favorite fashion trends of the moment?
I think the only "trend" that I'm loving is the floral print jeans.
If you could raid the wardrobe of any movie, what would it be? Why? Please describe the fashion/wardrobe choices.
I would most definitely chose Factory Girl. My obsession with Edie Sedgwick (major style icon) and the 1960s just says it all.
You shop eBay for items. What are your tips for netting items from the site? Do you always set out with something specific in mind?
I feel like the best tip is to have something in mind that you already want and look for the best deals, sometimes you can score awesome things for low prices.
What role does living in Miami play in your style identity?
Miami is usually sunny and humid so I definitely try to work my outfits around that and try to keep cool. I don't do it all the time though because I don't sweat easily so you'll still see me wearing leather jackets, chambray shirts, and tons of jackets in 90 degree weather.
What have been some of the memorable opportunities that have come from the blog so far?
Definitely working with some of my favorite brands. It just seems so unreal at times!
What are your ambitions outside of the blog?
At the moment I'm just going with the flow. I have a full-time job, and working on going back to school.
When I am not blogging I like to...
Watch tons of movies, hang with my boyfriend and cute dog, or go out to my favorite bars with my amazing friends.
