Straight from Sweden: The Sounds @ Culture Room
Swedish indie pop-synth and new New Wave band The Sounds will be stopping in Fort Lauderdale on their North American tour to promote their fourth album, Something to Die For. Fronted by the strikingly blonde, edgily-fashionable, and totally crowd-rousing lead singer Maja Ivarsson (she's been known to stage dive into the screaming crowd while wearing a vintage mini-LBD), the Sounds are oft compared to Blondie and Missing Persons. And to completely prove their indie rock-meets-fashion credibility — Misshapes DJ/model/general style arbiter Leigh Lezark graces the cover of their second album, Dying to Say This to You.
