Un film à voir si la fameuse île espagnole vous intrigue. Ce documentaire trace le portrait des musiciens, DJs, danseuses et promoteurs qui s'affairent à faire tourner une machine de divertissement sophistiquée pour combler les besoins de sexe, de plaisirs et de liberté des Occidentaux.

The maiden danced to death (A halàlba tàancoltatott leàny)
Par l’hongrois Endre Hules.
Ce film raconte l’histoire de Steve, un ancien danseur devenu imprésario, qui après 20 ans d’exil au Canada décide de retourner à sa Hongrie natale lorsqu’il découvre que le mouvement communiste a chuté. Son retour sera marqué par des retrouvailles avec son frère, Gyula, lui aussi danseur. La rivalité se fait immédiatement sentir.

Un film de Thierry Klifa mettant en vedette Catherine Deneuve.
Voici l’histoire d’un écrivain en mal d'inspiration qui s’infiltre dans la vie d'une journaliste, star de la télé, et de sa fille, danseuse étoile, pour écrire à leur insu une biographie non autorisée. Pendant ce temps, en Bretagne, un garçon de 20 ans, Bruno, qui habite avec ses parents, ne connait pas encore les conséquences que toute cette histoire va avoir sur son existence...
Présenté en clôture du festival ce dimanche.
Que bella giornata
Un film de l’italien Gennaro Nunziante.
Originaire du sud de l'Italie, Checco travaille dans une discothèque de la banlieue, mais rêve cependant de joindre le corps de police militaire. Ses relations familiales lui permettent de devenir un agent de sécurité à la cathédrale de Milan. Sa stupidité inépuisable fait bientôt de lui le pigeon idéal pour Sufien et sa soeur Farah lorsqu'ils planifient de bombarder le célèbre toit de la cathédrale.
Le film fût présenté sur quelques 850 écrans en Italie, un chiffre sans précédent dans l'histoire de la distribution italienne.

Here I am
Un film réalisé par l’Australienne Beck Cole.
Here I am raconte l’histoire de Karen, une jeune femme aborigène dans la vingtaine qui essai de reconstruire sa vie après sa sortie de prison. Réfugiée dans un centre pour femmes, Karen réalise qu’elle doit faire face à son passé dont retrouver sa fille qui est sous la garde de sa mère, une femme qui trouve difficile de concevoir que sa fille veut et peut, bel et bien changer…
Ce premier film de Beck Cole a eu droit à une ovation lors de sa première en Australie!

The film zeroes in on Steve, a former dancer turned impresario, who returns to his native Hungary after 20 years of exile in Canada, after learning that the communist movement has been brought down. A turning point of his return will be reuniting with his brother Gyula, also a dancer. A rivalry then quickly takes shape.

His Mother’s Eyes (‘‘Les yeux de sa mère’’)
By French filmmaker Thierry Klifa, starring Catherine Deneuve.
Here’s the story of a writer dealing with a dearth of inspiration, who sneakily works his way into the life of a popular TV journalist and her daughter, a star dancer, to pen an unauthorized biography. Meanwhile in Brittany, 20-year-old Bruno, who still lives at home, isn’t yet aware of the consequences this story will have on his own life.
Presented as the festival’s closing film this Sunday.
What a Beautiful Day (‘‘Che bella giornata’’)

Hailing from the South of Italy, Checco works in a suburban disco, while dreaming of joining the ranks of the military police. His family ties help him secure a securiry guard position at the Milan Cathedral. His inexhaustible idiocy, however, quickly makes him the ideal sucker for Sufien and his sister Farah to carry out their plan to bomb the Cathedral’s famous rooftop.
Che bella giornata was released on about 850 screens in Italy, an unprecedented number in the history of Italian distribution.

Here I Am tells the story of Karen, a young Indigenous woman in her twenties who takes a shot at rebuilding her life after being released from jail. Taking refuge in a women’s shelter, Karen realizes that she must come to terms with her past and find her daughter, who’s being raised by her estranged mother – a woman who can hardly imagine that her daughter would want to, let alone be able to change…
Beck Cole’s debut feature received a standing ovation at its Australian premiere.
